The Power Of Colors In Web Design
The Power Of Color Choice
Did you know that 85% of consumers cite color as a primary reason for buying a product? It plays a really large role in buying decisions, your website's color scheme communicates your brand's personality and influences visitor behavior.
Simple Color Guide
Blue = trust and reliability (think LinkedIn, Facebook, PayPal)
Green = growth and harmony (perfect for environmental or financial sites)
Orange = excitement and confidence (great for calls-to-action)
Purple = luxury and creativity (often used by beauty brands)
My Website Tip of the Week
Before choosing your website's colors, test it for accessibility. This just means everyone can understand and read it. Use the WebAIM Contrast Checker to ensure your text remains readable for all visitors. Studies show that proper contrast can increase reading comprehension by up to 40%.
Website Idea of the Week
I thought about making a small little AI software platform that generates accessible color palettes based on brand keywords and values. You can use ChatGPT & Canva to create the color codes and have it automatically write up a brand report along with the color codes and styling.
For example, a yoga studio could input "peaceful, energizing, natural" and receive color combinations that ACTUALLY match their brand. SImple but it would be cool if there was a specific tool where people could just go on and specifically get their branding done with AI.
Until next time,
Kelly
